The toe area is very open and seems like if you had to wear it a lot it wouldn't be too hard to take.

Maybe a little foam padding on the outside of the uppers would solve the problem.

If Timberland fixed the bottoms of these boots so they would last longer I would definitely consider ordering another pair. Overall, a very comfortable boot, offering good protection with average durability, and nice style.
