They're certainly not as comfortable as sneakers no matter what, but this is a comfortable boot, and it's a quality boot of course, it is a Timberland after all.

I bought them in March of 2009 and they are still holding together today except I have nearly worn the bottom layer of rubber off the boot and they have cracked at the ball of the foot letting water soak in.

A delivery guy looking for a durable shoe/boot - ...being
on my feet all day, I needed something comfortable, yet
durable. After 1 month, I'm pleased with these shoes. I like
them because they’re not heavy like other steel toes. My only
negative is they don't have a lot of padding; however, they are
surprisingly comfortable even out of the box.

Boots for working - I run a large resort in FL -- mow, line-
trim, edge, etc., daily. Best boots I've found for constant
walking/working.

Thankfully I don't have to wear steel toe or composite
toe too often. They're certainly not as comfortable as sneakers
no matter what, but this is a comfortable boot, and it's a
quality boot of course, it is a Timberland after all. The toe
area is very open and seems like if you had to wear it a lot it
wouldn't be too hard to take. All in all, it looks as good as
the pictures. I'd say if you think you might like these, you
will like these; and Zappos is still doing a great job.
